How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ry

Ry sits nestled within the quiet Vexin Normand, a landscape defined by the gentle meanderings of le Crevon and the verdant slopes of the Vente de la Salle. Here, the soft grey light filters over apple orchards and fields of thick hedges, reminiscent of a world where time lingers in the damp earth. Nearby, the grand Château de Martainville stands as a silent sentinel of the past, while the ruins of the Château de Bainville-Crevon speak of long-faded eras. Further afield, the Menhir dit la Pierre Saint-Martin rests in the soil, a weathered witness to the ancient rhythms of this pastoral land.
