How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Honoré

Saint-Honoré sits quietly within the Plaine de Socquentot, a landscape defined by the soft grey light that lingers over the bocage and apple orchards. Nearby, the river la Varenne traces its path through fields, while the woodland of les Hautes Brehoulles offers a shadowed refuge. Visitors can explore the nearby Château de Montigny, a silent witness to the passage of time, or venture to the elegant Château de Bosmelet. Further afield, the haunting ruins of Château d'Arques-la-Bataille stand as a somber reminder of the weight of history carried quietly across this verdant, flint-strewn land.
