How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bioussac

Bioussac rests within the quiet folds of the Charente landscape, a place defined by the steady presence of la Lizonne and the nearby, larger current of la Charente. The terrain is marked by the heights of le Télégraphe and the shaded stillness of the Bois de Chanchevrier. Here, the air carries a hint of limestone plains and distant, sun-drenched vineyards. Visitors find the elegant Domaine de l'Abrègement nestled within the village, while the ruins of the ancienne Chapelle Saint-Blaise offer a somber reflection on the past. Further out, the Château de Verteuil stands as a weathered sentinel over the surrounding fields.
