How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Christophe

Saint-Christophe rests within the quiet folds of the Charente, a landscape defined by the gentle presence of la Marchadaine and the nearby Petit Bois. This is a region of limestone earth, where the light shifts across open fields and the distant horizon is anchored by the Monts de Blond. Beyond the village, a visitor might uncover the ancient weight of history at the Menhir de Ceinturat or the Dolmen de Rouffignac, both standing as silent witnesses to the deep past. Further afield, the Château de Rochebrune rises from the countryside, a reminder of the layers of time that shape this quiet corner of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
