How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Sainte-Souline

Sainte-Souline sits nestled within the rolling landscape of Charente, where the quiet rhythm of the countryside is defined by the gentle presence of la Maury and the sprawling canopy of la Charbonnière. The terrain shifts from open fields to the subtle elevation of les Perelles on the horizon, catching the wide, shifting light characteristic of the region. Nearby, the landscape reveals layers of deep history; visitors can wander the ancient grounds of the Villa gallo-romaine de la Coue d'Auzenat, explore the enduring stone legacy of the Château de la Faye, or discover the weathered remains of the Aqueduc (restes d'un).
