How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Flayat

Flayat sits within the Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches en Limousin, a landscape defined by the granite soul of the Massif des Agriers. Here, the high, bare plateau gives way to the shadowed woodland of Pierre Grosse and the quiet presence of the Ruisseau du Pont. Nearby, the Étang de la Ramade mirrors the expansive sky, while the ancient Dolmen d’Urbe stands as a silent witness to the deep past. Visitors may explore the Château de Flayat within the commune or seek out the stone remnants of the Château de Magnat, each piece of architecture grounding this water-rich territory of peat bogs and hidden mill leats.
