How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Amand

Saint-Amand rests within the granite embrace of the Creuse, a landscape defined by the quiet presence of the Bois de Jorrand and the rising slopes of Puy Renaud. Here, the Ruisseau d'Aubusson whispers through hedged pastures, leading the gaze toward the vast, peat-rich silence of the Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches en Limousin. Visitors may wander to the Château du Fôt, where history sleeps in stone, or seek the delicate echoes of the past at the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie. Nearby, the ruins of Le Chapitre stand as a contemplative sentinel over the wild, verdant upland of the Puy de Plane.
