How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Sermur

Sermur rests upon the high, granite-strewn plateaus of the Creuse, a landscape defined by the quiet persistence of the Ruisseau de Graves and the nearby Étang de Roudeleix. Here, the earth holds the scent of chestnut groves and the stillness of deep woodland at the Grand Bois de Lascaux. Amidst the hedged pastures, the memory of the past lingers in the weathered Vestiges de la tour, standing as a silent sentinel over the rolling terrain. A short journey leads to the Château de Chard or the ancient Villa Gallo-romaine de Coux, where the echoes of antiquity settle into the quiet, water-rich soil of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
