How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Augé

Augé rests within the quiet expanse of Deux-Sèvres, where the landscape is defined by the gentle presence of the Ruisseau de Montbrune and the nearby shelter of the Bois de Cathelogne. This is a land of limestone plains and low hedges, offering a stillness that invites lingering. Beyond the village, the horizon holds the shimmering Retenue de la Touche Poupard, while the wider countryside leads toward the lush waterways of the Parc Naturel Régional du Marais Poitevin. Visitors may explore the intricate stone of the Abbatiale Saint-Maixent or discover the hidden depths of the Grande fontaine de Saint-Christophe, each carrying the weight of ancient, weathered craft.
