How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Marsalès

Marsalès sits nestled within the Bassin de la Dordogne, a landscape defined by the gentle presence of the Véronne and the quiet, verdant expanse of les Pradelles. In this corner of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the terrain hums with a damp warmth, where the horizon is shaped by the distant silhouette of the Tertre Blanc. A short journey leads to the imposing fortress of Château de Biron, which stands as a silent sentinel over the rolling hills, while the elegant Manoir de Pech Godou and the storied Château de Regagnac invite quiet exploration. Here, the rhythm of the countryside is measured by the changing light upon the fields and the ancient, enduring character of the land.
