How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Dardenac

Dardenac lies nestled within the Bassin de la Dordogne, a landscape defined by the quiet rhythms of the Rouillé du Courant and the nearby Bois de Vinet. Here, the air holds a damp warmth, and vines stretch in strict rows across gravelly slopes. While the Bay of Biscay and the height of Mont Tremblant mark the horizon, the immediate countryside remains intimate and still. Visitors may wander toward the Château de Preyssac, standing close by, or venture slightly further to explore the evocative Ruines de l'église de Montarouch and the historic Ancienne Abbaye de la Sauve-Majeure, where the stones speak of slow, enduring cycles.
