How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Gensac

Gensac sits nestled within the quiet folds of the landscape, defined by the nearby flow of la Durèze and the wider, ancient presence of the Bassin de la Dordogne biosphere reserve. The horizon is marked by the distinct slopes of the Coteaux de la Dordogne and the deep, silent expanse of the Bois de Rival. Nearby, the landscape yields to the echoes of antiquity at the Villa Gallo-Romaine de Montcaret, while the stone silhouettes of the Château de Prats and the Château de Montvert stand as steady sentinels over the vines and walnut groves that stretch toward the distant river.
