How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ruch

Ruch sits quietly within the expansive Bassin de la Dordogne, a landscape where rows of vines stretch across gravelly soil under vast, open skies. Nearby, the Ruisseau du Courbut traces a gentle path through the countryside, mirroring the damp warmth of this verdant basin. The horizon is defined by the rolling textures of the Gironde, a region rich with the scent of walnut and the memory of ancient stone. A short journey away, the Grotte Célestine reveals its hidden, crystalline depths, while the Château de Rauzan and the sturdy Vestiges de la Commanderie de Sallebruneau stand as silent, weathered sentinels amidst the quiet fields.
