How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Champsac

Champsac rests within the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, a landscape defined by granite outcrops and chestnut groves. The Ruisseau de la Monnerie winds through the quiet terrain, while the nearby Bois de l'Abbaye offers shelter among ancient trees. Beyond the village, the memory of the land is etched in the presence of the Château de Châlus-Chabrol, where history whispers from weathered stones. Further afield, the Gisement gallo-romain des Couvents reveals echoes of a distant past, while the majestic Château de Montbrun stands as a sentinel over the rolling, hedged pastures where Limousin cattle graze in the soft light.
