How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Droux

Droux sits quietly within the granite-rich landscapes of Haute-Vienne, where the earth feels ancient and deeply rooted. Nearby, the waters of la Semme flow through a patchwork of hedged pastures, while the dense canopy of the Bois de Droux offers a shelter for local wildlife. The rolling horizon suggests the proximity of the larger la Gartempe, shaping a terrain defined by water and stone. Visitors might discover the mysterious Grotte des Fées, wander near the stone remnants of the Dolmen de la Borderie, or explore the historic site of the Celle grandmontaine des Bronzeaux, each piece of the landscape carrying the silent, enduring memory of this inland territory.
