How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Glanges

Glanges sits quietly within a landscape defined by the granite earth and the shadow of the Bois Jeansac. Here, the land rolls toward the summit of Puy Péroud, while the nearby waters of la Petite Briance and the wider current of la Briance trace the valley floors. It is a place of hedged pastures and the persistent memory of the soil. Nearby, the Menhir du Métayer stands as a silent sentinel of ancient history, while the ruins of Château de Châlucet offer a weathered perspective on time. Further out, the Château de Traslage completes this intimate portrait of the Limousin countryside.
