How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Lagrange

Lagrange sits quietly within the sandy tracks of the Landes, defined by the slow transit of the Ruisseau de Montdoy and the encroaching silence of the Bois de Cazaubon. The horizon is shaped by the gentle rise of the Pouy de las Crouts, while the nearby Retenue de Latour offers a still, reflective surface to the landscape. A short journey reveals the architectural weight of the Château du Prada and the Château de Caumale, both standing as stone sentinels over the gravel-lined vines. Further afield, the Cathédrale Saint-Luperc commands the view, grounding this inland commune in a wider, ancient geography of walnut, duck, and tall skies.
