How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ambrus

Ambrus rests in the quiet heart of the Lot-et-Garonne, where the landscape unfolds in a tapestry of vines in strict rows on gravel and the gentle slopes toward Coste Rouge. Nearby, the Ruisseau de Bénac winds through the shade of la Paloumère, while the wider countryside hints at the damp warmth and tall skies of the region. A visitor wandering these paths will discover the stately presence of Château d'Ambrus, the historic echoes of Château de Xaintrailles, and the ancient mystery of the Allée Funéraire de Cabeil. It is a place of deep stillness, far from the surf and dune, where the spirit of the land remains undisturbed.
