How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Aubiac

Aubiac sits quietly within the landscape of the Lot-et-Garonne, where the rhythm of the land is dictated by the gentle flow of the Ruisseau de Lasclottes and the nearby presence of the river Gers. This is a country of damp warmth and tall skies, where the horizon is defined by the elevation of the Tuque de Yon and the deep, silent shadows of the Herrant woodland. Beyond the village, the terrain unfolds into the structured beauty of vines in strict rows on gravel, mirroring the wider regional character of this part of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

The village itself is anchored by the Église Sainte-Marie, a structure that holds the quiet history of the commune within its walls. A short journey into the surrounding countryside reveals the storied stone of the Château de Montluc, standing as a testament to the architecture of the region. Visitors may also venture toward the Lac de Passeligne for a moment of stillness, or explore the intricate stonework of the Église Notre-Dame. It is a place for those who seek the quietude of the land, far from the pulse of larger cities.
