How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Cavarc

Cavarc rests within the undulating landscape of the Lot-et-Garonne, where the quiet waters of la Bournègue brush against the edges of the Mazéna woodland. The earth here carries the scent of walnut and the disciplined rows of vines, set beneath vast, shifting skies. To the horizon, the Pechgulier summit anchors the view, while the Retenue de la Nette offers a still, reflective surface nearby. Visitors may wander to the Château de Canterane, explore the intricate masonry of the Ancien Palais des Evêques, or find a sense of quietude at the Église Notre-Dame, each site grounding this corner of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in a deep, enduring stillness.

À propos de Cavarc
