How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Salles

Salles sits nestled in the rolling terrain of Lot-et-Garonne, where the quiet Ruisseau Groulet traces the edges of the land. Nearby, the woodland of Buffe-Vent offers a dense, shaded retreat from the open fields, while the distant Pech de Loygue marks the horizon. The wider countryside feels shaped by the legacy of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, rich with the scent of walnut and prune orchards. A visitor might explore the formidable Château de Gavaudun, a fortress that looms over the valley, or wander the ruins of Prieuré Saint-Géraud. Further afield, the imposing walls of Château de Bonaguil stand as silent witnesses to the region's layered past.
