How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ossenx

Ossenx rests in a landscape where the Ruisseau de Bernateigts whispers through fields and the shade of the Lageyre woodland. The air here holds the damp promise of sudden rain, leaving the green slopes and red-and-white farmhouses glistening. On the horizon, the summit of Septaut stands as a quiet sentinel over the rolling terrain. Visitors may wander toward the Château de Laàs to admire its historic grounds, or find a deeper stillness at the Musée du Camp de Gurs. Further afield, the Tour Moncade rises to offer a view of a countryside shaped by sheep-dotted hills and the enduring rhythm of the land.
