Eycheil rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Pyrénées Ariégeoises, where the mountains rise like a granite wall against the southern sky. The Ruisseau d'Abeus traces the valley floor, while the shadows of the Forêt de la Hajau stretch toward the slopes of the Montagne de Sourroque. In the wider countryside, the landscape is defined by the rugged Paloumère region. Nearby, the ruins of the Château de Mirabat stand as silent witnesses to the past, while the Palais des Evêques and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-la-Sède offer a glimpse into the storied architecture of the neighbouring valleys, all set against a backdrop of hanging valleys and high ridges.
