How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ambeyrac

Ambeyrac rests upon the Causse de Limogne, where the dry heat hums with the song of cicadas and the landscape unfolds in rolling hills of wheat. Nearby, the river Lot carves its path through deep gorges, while the woodland of Cuzar offers a quiet refuge. Beyond the village, the Grotte de Foissac reveals prehistoric mysteries beneath the limestone, and the Château de Larroque-Toirac stands as a silent sentinel over the valley. Visitors may also discover the Dolmen de Pech-Laglaire 2, a weathered testament to ancient spirits resting amidst the sun-drenched plateau and the expansive reaches of the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy.
