How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Les Albres

Les Albres sits quietly amidst the rolling landscape of Aveyron, where the Ruisseau de Talayac traces the land and the Bois de Simon offers a verdant expanse. Nearby, the horizon is marked by the Puech de Liergues, while the wider countryside invites discovery of its singular history. A visitor might find the ruins of the Ancien hôpital des Anglais, which speak of a distant past, or admire the stoic architecture of the Château de Bouillac. Further afield, the Église du Gua stands as a testament to the enduring character of this Occitanie commune, sheltered by the limestone spirit of the nearby Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy.
