How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Muret-le-Château

Muret-le-Château sits quietly amidst the rolling hills of the Aveyron, where the Ruisseau des Douzes traces a slow path through the landscape. This is a country of limestone causse and shadows cast by the Bois des Ducs, a place where the heat of noon brings the song of cicadas. Nearby, the ancient Dolmen de Vitarelle stands as a silent witness to a distant past, while the Château du Colombier rises with stone authority above the fields. Further out, the Grotte de Bouche Roland invites exploration into the quiet earth, reflecting the rugged, enduring spirit of the Occitanie region.
