Saint-Bauzély rests upon the Plateau de Saint-Nicolas, a landscape defined by the quiet flow of the river le Valadas and the nearby heights of Montaud. The air here carries the scent of box and thyme after rain, drifting from the dense cover of the Bois Longs. In the wider countryside, the memory of the Camisards lingers in the mistral-scoured ridges. Visitors may seek the ancient Carrière romaine du Roquet, carved deep into the earth, or wander the ruins of the Château de Montpezat.
