How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Arbon

Arbon rests within the undulating expanse of the Paloumère, a landscape defined by the quiet presence of the Ruisseau d'Arbon and the distant, cooling influence of the Garonne. The village is shadowed by the Pic de Bédat, while the nearby Col des Ares invites a slower pace through the rolling hills. Visitors can ascend the local Mont Joie for a sweeping perspective, or travel further to the solemn Memorial Fabio Casartelli. The imposing Collégiale Saint-Pierre-Saint-Gaudens stands as a testament to the stone-wrought heritage of the region, offering a grounding contrast to the ancient, whispering canopy of the Bois du Castel.
