How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Benque

Benque rests within the rolling contours of the Petites Pyrénées, where the scent of wheat fields mingles with the dry heat of midday. The Ruisseau de Bordevieille traces a quiet path through a landscape defined by the Bois de Labastide and the distant, sun-drenched slopes of la Serre. Nearby, the history of the soil reveals itself at the Thermes gallo-romains, while the enigmatic Grottes de Rodes pierce the limestone terrain. Closer still, the architecture of the Château de Benque stands as a silent witness to the passage of time, watching over a countryside where the Garonne flows toward the horizon.
