How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Caignac

Caignac rests amidst the rolling hills of the Haute-Garonne, where the scent of sunflower and wheat clings to the warm air. The Ruisseau de Gardijol carves a quiet path through the landscape near the Bois du Ramier, while the distant, shimmering Lac de la Ganguise offers a respite from the dry heat of midday. Nearby, the Seuil de Naurouze marks the historic divide of the waters, and the sturdy walls of the Château de Marquein stand as silent witnesses to the region's heritage. A short distance away, the Fouilles archéologiques de Peyre Clouque reveal the ancient secrets buried beneath this terracotta earth.
