How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Cathervielle

Cathervielle rests in the high, quiet air of Haute-Garonne, where the Ruisseau Labach carves its path through the rugged terrain. The landscape is defined by the proximity of the Réserve Naturelle Régionale du Massif du Montious and the dense, silent expanse of the Bois de la Coume. Near the village, the summit of l'Homme de Pierre stands as a sentinel over the valley. A short journey away, the ruins of the Tour de Moulor hold the memory of older times, while the distant, imposing presence of the Pic Schrader ou Grand Batchimale dominates the horizon, offering a stark reminder of the deep, untamed character of this Occitanie highland.
