How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Clarac

Clarac rests within the gentle undulations of the Haute-Garonne, where the cool waters of le Lavet meander toward the nearby Garonne. The landscape is defined by the sheltered woodland of le Bédat and the rising silhouette of the Montagne de Gert, painted in the golden hues of wheat fields under the dry heat of the summer sun. Nearby, the elaborate gardens of the Château de Valmirande offer a glimpse into local grandeur, while the ancient Grottes de Gargas hold shadows of the deep past. Further afield, the Collégiale Saint-Pierre-Saint-Gaudens stands as a quiet sentinel over the rolling terrain.
