How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Montoussin

Montoussin rests within the rolling hills of the Petites Pyrénées, where the Ruisseau del Gay winds through the landscape and the Bois de Tucoulet et Boutescure offers quiet shade. Sun-drenched wheat fields stretch toward the horizon, punctuated by the distinct silhouettes of local pigeonniers. Visitors can explore the nearby Thermes gallo-romains, where ancient stones echo with the history of the region. A short distance away, the Château de Palaminy stands as a silent sentinel, while the subterranean allure of the Grotte de Rodes invites curiosity. The air here holds the dry, lingering heat of a southern afternoon, felt deeply among the quiet ridges.
