How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Rouède

Rouède rests within the rolling contours of the Paloumère, a landscape where wheat fields stretch beneath the dry heat and the persistent pulse of cicadas. The Ruisseau de la Justale meanders through this quiet terrain, while the dense canopy of the Bois du Thouas shades the earth. Beyond the village, the horizon is marked by the presence of the Peyregade. Visitors can explore the remnants of the Site archéologique de la grotte de Mongautin or travel toward the distant peaks of the Parc Naturel Régional des Pyrénées Ariégeoises. Near the winding currents of the Garonne, the stately Château de Prat stands as a silent sentinel of the past.
