OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Asque rests in the quiet cradle of the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the horizon is defined by the stone wall of the mountains and the shifting shadows of afternoon storms. The Cilh flows nearby, carving a path through a landscape of slate and stone, while the woodland of Paillas offers a sanctuary of deep green. To the south, the peaks rise like silent guardians, marking the approach to the Aire d'Adhésion du Parc National des Pyrénées. A short journey away, the mysterious depths of the Gouffre d'Esparros invite exploration, while the tranquil ruins of the Cloître Saint-Jean and the storied walls of the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu echo with the weight of centuries.
