How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bonnefont

Bonnefont rests in a quiet fold of the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the landscape is defined by the gentle flow of la Baïse and the persistent presence of the Bois de Bonnefont nearby. To the south, the horizon is anchored by the imposing peaks of the Pyrenees, where storms gather in the afternoon heat. A visitor might venture toward the rugged stone of the Château de Mauvezin or find solace in the ancient walls of the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu. For those seeking the stillness of water, the Lac de Puydarrieux offers a serene sanctuary amidst the rolling fields and scattered woodland.
