How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bonnemazon

Bonnemazon nestles within the Hautes-Pyrénées, a landscape where the Pyrenees rise like a dark, serrated wall against the southern horizon. The commune is cradled by the gentle flow of le Luz, while the nearby Bois de Kersan offers a quiet canopy of green. To the south, the shadow of the Casque du Lhéris looms, and the rugged Pène Guilhemteste defines the upland horizon. Visitors find the majestic Abbaye de l'Escaladieu standing in peaceful contemplation within the village, while the formidable stone ramparts of the Château de Mauvezin guard the nearby hills. In the afternoon, storms often gather over the summits, casting long shadows across the fields.
