OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Lanespède sits nestled in the rolling folds of the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the quiet current of la Lène defines the rhythm of the valley. To the south, the massive horizon of the peaks looms like a limestone wall, gathering afternoon storms that roll over the Bois de Sarraméa. The landscape is a patchwork of ancient fields and silent slopes, far removed from the bustle of the plains. Nearby, the brooding masonry of the Château de Mauvezin stands against the sky, while the tranquil stones of the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu offer a sanctuary of echoes. Deep beneath the earth, the Grottes de Labastide reveal a hidden, silent geology.
