How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Cazedarnes

Cazedarnes rests within a landscape defined by the Ruisseau de Ronnel and the nearby Bois de la Gineste, where the scent of box and thyme lingers after rain. This commune sits at the threshold of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Languedoc, framed by the rugged character of le Caroux and the distant, mistral-scoured ridges. Nearby, the Église Sainte-Marie stands as a quiet witness to the passage of time, while the Château de Maureilhan and the historic Collégiale Saint-Étienne offer glimpses into the enduring stone heritage of the wider countryside. It is a place of schist and memory, anchored firmly in the inland hills.

À propos de Cazedarnes
