How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Le Triadou

Le Triadou rests within the limestone embrace of the Montagne d'Hortus, where the scent of box and thyme rises after the rain. Nearby, the waters of le Lirou carve through the landscape, bordered by the dense shade of the Bois de Rieu Coullon. Beyond the village, the rugged terrain reveals the silent, skeletal remains of the Château de Montferrand, standing watch over the valley. Visitors may also discover the weathered ruins of the Ancien moulin de Lafous or explore the ancient stones of the Oppidum de Garaste, remnants of a quiet, enduring presence etched into the scrubland and terraced slopes.
