How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bio

Bio sits quietly within the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy, surrounded by the limestone plateau and the quiet shade of the Bois de Valon. Nearby, the Ruisseau de Bio meanders through fields of wheat, while the distant, arid heights of the Causse de Gramat define the horizon. Visitors might lose themselves in the cool, subterranean depths of the Gouffre de Padirac, explore the rugged walls of the Château d’Aynac, or observe the wildlife at the Parc Animalier de Gramat. It is a land of dry heat, where the cicadas sing at noon above the white stone and rolling hills.
