How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Brengues

Brengues rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy, where the river le Célé carves a path through the limestone landscape. The air carries the dry heat of the plateau, marked by the scent of the Bois de Mars and the quiet presence of grazing sheep. Visitors may wander up to the Château des Anglais, which clings to the cliffside, or seek the ancient silence of the Monastère de Notre-Dame de Val Paradis nearby. Further afield, the Dolmen de Pech-Laglaire 2 stands as a stoic monument to the deep, silent history of the causse.
