How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Carnac-Rouffiac

Carnac-Rouffiac rests within the rolling hills of the Lot, where the landscape is defined by the gentle flow of le Lissourgues and the quiet shade of the Bois de Gaïrac. Here, the dry heat of midday brings the song of cicadas to the wheat fields and limestone plateaus. A visitor might venture out to discover the imposing Tour de Montcuq rising on its ridge, the historic Château de Camy, or the storied Grotte de Roland. It is a place of sun-drenched horizons and ancient earth, where the wider countryside invites a slow pace amidst the timeless, pastoral rhythms of the Occitanie region.
