OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Frayssinet rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy, a landscape defined by the pale, porous limestone of the causse and the rhythmic hum of cicadas in the dry noon heat. The small river le Tirelire traces a path through rolling hills where wheat and sunflowers thrive, bordered by the quiet shade of the Bois de Lazière. Beyond the village, one finds the sturdy ruins of the Oppidum de Murcens and the elegant Château de Labastide-Murat standing guard over the horizon. Further out, the Grottes de Cougnac offer a glimpse into ancient depths, all framed by the timeless character of the surrounding limestone plateau.
