How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Goujounac

Goujounac rests amidst the rolling hills of the Lot, a place defined by the quiet persistence of the Ruisseau de la Masse and the nearby woodland of les Clos Barrat. Here, the landscape is sculpted from causse limestone, where wheat fields shimmer under the dry heat and the persistent drone of cicadas at noon. A short distance away, the Pech Pigounet rises on the horizon, while the Bassin de la Dordogne biosphere reserve offers a vast, protected expanse. Visitors might explore the resilient stone of the Château de Montcléra, the historic shadows of the Château des Junies, or the weathered walls of the Manoir du Rouergoux.
