How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Latronquière

Latronquière rests within the Bassin de la Dordogne, a landscape defined by the limestone of the causse and the dense, quiet presence of la Majorie woodland. The Ruisseau de Goutepeyrouse murmurs nearby, while the Lac du Tolerme reflects a vast, open sky. Within the village, the Musée Gabriel - Magasin Universel preserves a singular sense of place, offering a window into local life. Further afield, the silhouette of the Château des Bessonies stands against the horizon, and the rugged, ancient form of the Gouffre des Cloches marks the earth, inviting a contemplation of the deep, enduring silence of the Lot.
