How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Pinsac

Pinsac rests within the embrace of the Bassin de la Dordogne, a landscape defined by the limestone breath of the Causse de Martel and the cooling shade of le Raysse woodland. Near the winding currents of la Dordogne, the air carries the scent of wheat and the dry, persistent hum of cicadas. Beyond the village, one may trace the ancient stone of the Château de la Treyne rising above the valley, or explore the deep, silent echoes of the Grottes de Lacave. The horizon is shaped by the distant silhouette of Pech Pila, watching over a terrain of pale stone and hidden, quiet history.
