How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chaudeyrac

Chaudeyrac rests within the wilder reaches of the Causse de Montbel, a landscape shaped by the persistent scent of box and thyme after rain. Nearby, the waters of le Fougerols flow through a terrain marked by the presence of la Poubreire and the sheltering Bois de Grosfau. Those wandering the wider countryside might encounter the remnants of the Camisard memory etched into the mistral-scoured ridges. To the horizon, the Réservoir de Naussac offers a vast stillness, while the imposing heights of le Moure de la Gardille stand as silent witnesses to the rugged, sheep-tracked uplands that define this quiet corner of Lozère.
