How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Saturnin

Saint-Saturnin sits quietly within the Causse du Villard, a landscape where the bare limestone of the high plateaus meets the deep, verdant folds of the Parc Naturel Régional de l'Aubrac. Nearby, the Ruisseau de Saint-Saturnin traces a cooling line through the terrain, while the broader waters of le Lot flow through the wider countryside. Visitors may explore the Château de Saint-Saturnin, an anchor of stone in the village, or uncover the ancient layers of history at the Musée archéologique de Banassac. Further out, the dramatic ruins of the Château de Montferrand stand as a silent witness to the rugged, mistral-scoured ridges of this historic land.
