How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Aignan

Saint-Aignan nestles within a landscape defined by rolling hills and the rhythmic cycle of wheat and sunflowers. The Ruisseau de Saint-Michel meanders close by, feeding into the wider valley where the Garonne flows through the countryside. Nearby, the Ancienne abbaye de Belleperche stands as a silent witness to the past, while the Moulin à eau de la Théoule captures the gentle pulse of local waterways. Further afield, the Pont-Canal du Cacor offers a masterclass in hydraulic engineering. Under the dry heat and the persistent song of cicadas, this corner of Occitanie reveals itself in the terracotta tones of its quiet, sun-drenched horizon.
